Virtual Phone Numbers

Connect your Telerivet account to local mobile networks in 34 countries, letting you send and receive SMS and calls as if you had a local presence, managed entirely from the cloud.

There are three ways to get a virtual number connected to Telerivet:

Get one directly from Telerivet: available in the United States and Canada. Telerivet handles provisioning and you pay per message with no third-party account required.

Bring your own number via Twilio or Vonage: available in a wider range of countries. You pay the provider directly for the number and messages; Telerivet does not charge a per-message fee on top.

Connect a custom provider: if your preferred SMS gateway or aggregator is not listed, Telerivet can integrate with nearly any provider offering a SMPP or HTTP API.

If virtual numbers are not available in your country, the Telerivet Gateway app works anywhere with a local SIM and mobile signal.

 

How it works

Virtual phone numbers are provided by a third-party service that connects Telerivet's servers to local telephone networks for SMS and voice. Once connected, you manage everything: contacts, messages, automation, routing through Telerivet's platform. No additional software required. Some virtual numbers support both SMS and voice calls, while others may only support one or the other.

Get a number directly from Telerivet (United States and Canada)

If your organization is based in the United States or Canada, you can get a virtual number directly from Telerivet with no third-party account required. Telerivet charges a per-message fee in addition to your standard service plan.

Virtual numbers are intended for communicating with contacts in the same country. International SMS is unreliable and not recommended. Your use case will require a brief approval before the number is provisioned.

In countries where virtual phone numbers aren't available, we recommend using the Telerivet Gateway app.

Bring your own number via Vonage, Twilio 

If you already have a Vonage or Twilio account, or if your country is covered by one of these providers but not by Telerivet's direct offering, connect your number to Telerivet and manage everything from one place. You pay the provider directly for message costs and Telerivet for platform usage.

Pricing: Phone numbers typically cost between €0.70 and €30 per month, depending on the country. The rate for outgoing SMS messages depends on the country, and ranges between €0.005/SMS and €0.20/SMS for most countries. Using a different provider: Bring Your own Connectivity

Telerivet integrates with nearly any SMS gateway or aggregator that offers a SMPP or HTTP API which covers the vast majority of regional and country-specific providers.

Custom integrations are subject to an additional fee for initial development and ongoing support, on top of your standard Telerivet plan. You also pay the provider directly for number rental, messages, etc.
